Husafell Glacier and Western Interior Private Tour

The Husafell Glacier Private Tour is a tour to the western interior of Iceland where we are driving along fjord Hvalfjordur enjoying the view over this beautiful fjord along the way. This is a great drive for people that have never seen a fjord.

We cross the mountains to the interior if road and weather conditions allow. Today we are going to see waterfalls Barnafoss and Hraunfossar, two places in one, passing one of the biggest lava fields in Iceland called Hallmundarhraun  on the way.

We will also pass Reykholt where writer Snorri Sturluson wrote some of the famous Icelandic Sagas and visit Deildartunguhver which is Europe’s biggest hot spring where the water is boiling out of the hill. If time permits we will have a lunch stop in Husafell before heading up to the glacier (summers only).

If conditions are ok in spring, summer and autumn we drive all the way up to the glacier so you can see it up close and possibly even step on it.

If you want to do an ice cave tour then it is ideal to add an extra glacier tour where you join a separate group with a separate guide in a glacier vehicle driving all the way up to the top of glacier Langjökull to go into a glacier tunnel at extra price.

On the way back we drive along the ice cap crossing the volcanic interior of Iceland stopping at the highest point to take photos and enjoy the view. On the way back we drive shortly through national park Thingvellir on the way back to Reykjavik.
